Irresistible Fried Twinkies Recipe

The fried twinkies are the favorites at fairs and carnivals. Deep fried to golden brown perfection, the fried twinkies have a creamy filling and crispy surface.

It’s convenient to make fried twinkies at home. With a few ingredients, you can let your children have these delicious snacks!

How Do You Make Fried Twinkies?

Pancake mix, eggs, milk, and vegetable oil are combined to make a basic batter. After dipping your Twinkies in the batter, fry them in a pot of oil. Golden browning the cakes in the oil takes a few minutes. The Twinkies should be served right away with a dipping sauce if preferred after adding a dusting of powdered sugar.

Tips for the Best Fried Twinkies

  • Other fried desserts like fried candy bars and fried Oreo cookies turn out beautifully when this batter is used.
  • To prevent the filling from leaking out when they are fried, make sure to completely cover each Twinkie in batter.
  • The temperature of your oil should always be monitored using a frying thermometer. The cakes’ exterior coating could burn if the oil is too hot. The batter will absorb too much oil and become greasy if the oil is too cold.
  • The batter ought to be sufficiently thick to form a nice shell around the Twinkies. When adding additional powdered pancake mix, add 1 tablespoon at a time, until the desired consistency is reached if the batter drips right off your Twinkies.
  • Feel free to mount your Twinkies on craft sticks or popsicle sticks for convenience in frying and eating.
  • To give your cakes a polished appearance, sift the powdered sugar over them using a sieve.
  • This dish is best when served with a dipping sauce. Normally, I make my own raspberry sauce, but I can also use chocolate syrup.

How Long Do Deep Fried Snack Cakes Last?

The best way to eat fried Twinkies, in my opinion, is fresh out of the fryer. The exterior coating will deteriorate as the Twinkies sit. Any leftover cakes can be kept for up to three days in the refrigerator. It is acceptable to crisp up leftovers by heating them all the way through in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Flavor Variations

  • Twinkies: Experiment with different varieties of Twinkies; this recipe tastes great with them all!
  • Coatings: Roll the cooked Twinkies in cinnamon sugar rather than sprinkling powdered sugar on top.
  • For a touch of chocolate flavor, stir in 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder to the batter.
